چکیده

The performance data of a PV module are derived from the current-voltage characteristic measured under standard test conditions (STC). For this purpose, test laboratories as well as module production plants employ solar simulators which, depending on type and module size, display a more or less pronounced non-uniform distribution of irradiance in the test plane. In view of the quality assurance for solar simulator test facilities and of the measuring and manufacturing tolerances, it is important to know the effects of non-uniformity of irradiance on the module current-voltage characteristic, and to take the effects into account in the calibration of light sources. This study presents the fundamental effects of a non-uniform irradiance distribution on the module performance. By means of computer modelling the specific influences of the solar simulator system and of solar cell parameters are demonstrated and measurements methods for performance rating of PV modules developed.

An Investigation of Temperature Effects on Solar Photovoltaic Cells and Modules

The solar photovoltaic (PV) systems are facing serious problems due to unavoidable losses in their system, leads to more devation of output power from the input power level. This effect is known as a mismatch effect and is available in PV systems. Many losses are encountered in PV system and it is difficult to minimize such losses. In this paper, the influence of thermal effect on the solar PV ...

The Effect of Aperture Size on the Cavity Performance of Solar Thermoelectric Generator

In this manuscript, a solar cavity packed with thermoelectric generator modules is investigated numerically. The hot plate of TEG modules make the inner surface of the cube, and the cold plate is outside of the cavity, under natural convection. The TEG modules are electrically in series. The solution algorithm using the equations of heat transfer and generated power of TEG modules is d...

A Practical Irradiance Model for Bifacial PV Modules

A model, suitable for a row or multiple rows of photovoltaic (PV) modules, is presented for estimating the backside irradiance for bifacial PV modules. The model, which includes the effects of shading by the PV rows, is based on the use of configuration factors to determine the fraction of a source of irradiance that is received by the backside of the PV module. Backside irradiances are modeled...
